Infrastructure modernisation across multiple sites

Replacing ageing server, storage and backup platforms without interrupting day-to-day services.

Requirement

The existing environment had grown over several years and differed from site to site. The internal team needed to replace end-of-life equipment, retain access to critical systems and improve the reliability of backups.

Work completed

Enabling Solutions audited the hardware and workloads, documented application dependencies and agreed a migration sequence with the client team. New compute, storage and virtualisation platforms were installed first. Workloads were then moved during planned change windows, with backup and restore tests completed before legacy equipment was retired.

Result

The organisation moved to a standardised platform that is easier to support. Workloads and backup jobs are centrally visible, recovery procedures are documented, and future capacity can be planned against a known baseline.

Scope delivered

  • Hardware and workload assessment
  • Compute and storage deployment
  • Workload migration
  • Backup and recovery testing

Managed support for a distributed organisation

Bringing user support, infrastructure monitoring and service reporting into one operating model.

Requirement

Support requests were handled through different channels, infrastructure alerts were not centrally monitored, and management had limited reporting on recurring incidents or service performance.

Work completed

A service desk was introduced as the single point of contact, supported by NOC monitoring for agreed infrastructure. Incident priorities, escalation paths and service targets were documented. Monthly reporting reviews ticket trends, recurring faults, availability and agreed improvement actions.

Result

Users now have a clear route for support and the IT team has one view of incidents and monitored systems. Repeated issues can be identified from service data and assigned through an agreed escalation process.

Scope delivered

  • Service desk onboarding
  • Infrastructure monitoring
  • Incident and escalation procedures
  • Monthly service reporting

Secure connectivity for branch operations

Standardising branch connectivity and security controls across a distributed operating environment.

Requirement

Branches used a mix of connection types and locally managed network equipment. The client needed consistent access policies, better visibility of link performance and a practical failover option for important locations.

Work completed

Each site was surveyed before a standard branch design was agreed. SD-WAN, segmentation and secure access policies were configured centrally, then deployed site by site. Primary and secondary links were tested during handover, and the support team received the final network records and escalation process.

Result

Branch connections can be monitored from a central view and security policies are applied consistently. Priority sites have tested failover arrangements, while support teams have current site and circuit information for fault escalation.

Scope delivered

  • Site and circuit assessment
  • SD-WAN deployment
  • Segmentation and access policy
  • Monitoring and handover
